Jackie Chan the famous Hollywood actor tries all his stunts to be selected in a team that is going to China for the Olympics to be held at Beijing, but in the end it is revealed to him that if he is the holder of Visa Credit Cards then there is no other qualification required to be at Beijing for the Olympics. This is the reach and the hold of Visa Credit Cards. You name any event of international level, and Visa Credit Cards would invariably be one of the business partners. Visa Credit Cards is one of the most commonly recognizable financial services brands all over the world, which transcends the barriers of culture, language and civilization to offer the financial services in times of need. Preparing for the 2010 Olympics in Whistler, British Columbia

2008 has been a banner sports season with the nail biting Tiger Woods win to Michael Phelps record-breaking gold medal Olympic performances. These types of wins not only encourage and inspire amateurs to follow in their footsteps, but they also stir the interest in traveling to the destinations athletes’ use as their backdrop.
The Olympics help create interest and demand for a venue, as illustrated in PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) Global Entertainment & Media Outlook: 2008-2012 (GEMO) report. Overall global sports market gate revenue totaled $38.8 billion in 2007 and is forecasted to be $51.2 billion by 2012. The 2008 Summer Beijing Olympics, London’s 2012 Summer Olympics and Vancouver’s 2010 Winter Olympics are credited with boosting gate revenue and further effecting growth in sports market.
The GEMO illustrates that the United Kingdom (UK), which was a $10.2 billion dollar sports market in 2007 is expected to surge to $15.8 billion by 2012. Furthermore, analysts predict that $70 million will be added to Canada’s gate revenue total.
One tour company that created Olympic inspired packages to China resulting from this summer’s games was “Inside Sports & Entertainment Group (ISEG). Debra Swersky, ISEG’s marketing and events manager, says “Many of our clients wanted to make an entire trip out of the experience since they were traveling so far for the games.”
With the diverse sporting events locations’, Swersky explains that some of the logisticst were complicated. “Soccer was being played in a variety of locations, including Shanghai, and the equestrian games were being held in Hong Kong. Several smaller groups decided to catch a soccer match in Shanghai, and a horserace in Hong Kong before heading over to Beijing to watch the spectacular Opening Ceremonies,” she says. “The Beijing leg of their journeys also included the swimming 400 IM race where Michael Phelps took home the gold (one of eight), the men’s and women’s all-around gymnastics events, and the USA vs. China basketball game.”
Aside from Olympic event tickets, Swersky says ISEG’s clients’ packages included a accommodations in each city, airport and event transfers, a bilingual guide in their travels, reservations at some of the top restaurants in Beijing, and spa treatments.
“A couple of our clients opted for a meet and greet (an add-on) with track star Allyson Felix in the Olympic Village. She is one of several athletes who we were able to coordinate this type of experience with,” she added.
ISEG has already started receiving requests for travel to Vancouver to experience the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Even for those travelers interested in reliving an Olympic experience, many locations re-use its Olympic venues as tourist locations. One such example is in Salt Lake City, Utah, home of the 2002 “Winter Olympics. Those adventurous travelers can take their turn on the bobsled (even in summer months), participate in a beginners camp for ski jumping or the luge. Visitors can even attend the Alf Engen Ski Museum and 2002 Games exhibit.
Have you attended any Olympic games or have you visited Olympic venues post-event?
George Bush plan to kill Barack Obama and Ahmadinejad with 1 Stone

As he sprints to the finnish of the 100 metre dash at the Beijing Olympics, George Bush is about to kill 2 birds, Barack Obama and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with 1 slingshot and 1 stone. Not since St. Paul helped stone Stephen Martyr to death for supporting Jesus Christ has a warrior so forgotten the element of surprise.
The surprise in store for us all is that on November 4, 2008, the United States of America will be at war with Iran for sure, and possibly in the middle of the Apocalypse. Not to mention the epidemic of chapped lips caused by climate change, the bears are now fleeing the forest because of the black flys and the polar bears are now forced to eat their young.
In case you missed the news that 1 billion people are about to starve to death because we are now about to put their food into out gas tanks, you’re welcome.
George Bush will now do his Menachem Begin impersonation and bomb Iran back to the stone ages. As one sixth of the earth’s population goes without food or water today, not 100 years from now, the American people are obsessing over what Michelle Obama meant when she said that for the first time in her life she is really proud to be an American. Americans, not used to honesty from their politicians naturally look at Michelle with skepticism. Not only is John McCain draping himself in the flag on the podium, but he has now switched to Charmin’s Ultra Strong American Flag toilet paper. Which species chops down forests to cleanse themselves? Even monkeys know to use the leaves.
Time is of the essence for George Bush to unleash his permanent radioactive poison upon the Middle East. This is because his term is running out in 6 months, and also because his favorite scapegoat Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s term is running out at the beginning of the new year, and he may lose the upcoming Iranian presidential election. Even with oil at $135 a barrel of monkeys, Mahmoud’s mismanagement of the economy has Iran’s inflation rate at 35%. The American inflation rate is also 35%, but you don’t know it because our leaders removed increases in the price of gasoline, food, toilet paer, rice krispies, and rugelach from the consumer price index.
Our big spending Republican leaders have deflated the true inflation number because when inflation rises, interest rates rise and if the United States is forced into paying 20% interest on the 10 trillion dollars worth of debt (a tax on the children and grandchildren by a different name, without Republicans using the T word) they have run up since Democrat Bill Clinton had the country in a surplus, Hu Jintao and Saudi King Abdullah will own not only your ports and banks, but your house too.
George Bush invaded Iraq to steal the Iraqi oil. Unfortunately, President Bush has handed the oil rich Basra region of southern Iraq to Iran. Foresight is not our President’s strong suit. Therefore, George Bush feels that the only way to capture the Middle East oil now is to conquer Iran. On November 4, 2008, when we go to the polls, we will be at war with Iran, and the choice in many of our primitive racist heads will be whether to vote for a white experienced war hero or a skinny NBA wannabe. Never mind that the war hero got us into this mess and the hoops star warned us not to invade Iraq. Unfortunately the American people have an extremely poor track record, having elected an alcoholic lying deserter twice.
When God of Mount Sinai, aka God the Father, The Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, Allah, Yehovah, Elohim carved the rules into stone 3,200 years ago next Friday, he carved that if the people murdered our components, air, water and earth by poisoning them to death, and if we murdered each other and if we lied and stole from each other, that he would punish us and our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The God of Christianity, Islam and Judaism visits the sins of the parents upon the children.
Today we are all paying for the mistakes of George Bush, John McCain and the Republican party, which has still not really discovered global warming. According to John McCain the surge is working. Is he reefering to the surge into Iran? Right now the distinction between John McCain and Barack Obama is that John McCain stands for endless war and Barack Obama stands for peace and ending the Iraq War. How will Barack Obama be able to call for a removal of our troops from Iraq when they are in the middle of a war with Iran and possibly their backers Russia and China?
George Bush is an ardent sports fan, having purchased the Texas Rangers with the backing of the Bin Laden family. This was why the Rangers replaced their baseball caps with Kafiyahs on April 21, 1989. Then commissioner of major league baseball Peter Ueberroth pushed the sale to Bush through before his term as commissioner expired at the end of 1989.
George Bush is going to the Beijing Olympics from August 8 to August 24, 2008. Therefore he will not launch Armageddon before then. The Presidential election is November 4, 2008. Therefore, Iran will be nuked in September or October of this year, and the wind on the one tiny ball named earth will blow the nuclear cloud onto Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Republican Convention is Sept. 1 to Sept. 4, 2008. Will George Bush and John McCain, in their embracing bear hug pose, plaster a picture of the young John McCain, the Brad Pitt war hero lookalike on the screen of the Xcel Energy Center side by side with the video of Jeremiah Wright screaming to the crowd whipped by war fever, “God Damn America for killing innocent people!†Isn’t that what Jesus carved in stone?
Jesus Christ accused people of straining at gnats while swallowing camels whole. Last Sunday at New York’s Carl Icahn Stadium, Jamaican Usain Bolt became the fastest man in the world by breaking the world record in the 100 meter dash by two one hundredths of a second better than the previous record held by his compatriot Asafa Powell. The Mayan Calendar comes to an end on Dec. 21, 2012, at which point our sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in 26,000 years. George Bush said, “When I was growing up I wanted to be Willie Mays. I never dreamed about being President.†Michael Jackson dreamed of being Celine Dion. Martin Luther King had a dream, and it isn’t going to happen without the help of Vladimir Putin, who is calling for sanctions against Iran for enriching uranium for Hamas and Hezbollah as he builds the Iranian nuclear power plant in Bushehr, Iran. Oh what a tangled web we weave, said the spider to the Zohan.
China Prepares Itself for the Beijing Olympics
The Games of the XXIX Olympiad is almost upon us. For the casual observer, this is otherwise known as the Summer Olympics to be held in Beijing, China. The opening ceremonies will begin on August 8, 2008, at 8 minutes past 8 PM, local China time. The number 8 signifies good luck in a culture steep in tradition. And with the world watching, the country will welcome some good fortune as it hosts the biggest sporting show on earth.
Over the years, we have all seen the progression and popularity of the Olympics from one four-year cycle to the next. The Olympic Games are getting bigger, more commercial and more extravagant. There are logistical questions regarding transporation, hotel accomodations and security involved. To get a better understanding of the issues a host country faces in these modern times, here is a look at the numbers.
Some 205 nations will be participating in the Beijing games, with approximately 10,500 athletes competing in 302 events within 28 sports. 37 sporting venues were built to accommodate the Beijing Olympics Games. While most of the events will be held in Beijing, football, equestrian and sailing will be held in other Chinese cities such as Qinhuangdao, Shanghai, Shenyang, Tianjin, Hong Kong and Qingdao.
The anticipated attendance for the Beijing Games is more than half a million. This does not include the 70,000 volunteers, 4000 staff, 18,000 journalists and the 10,500 athletes themselves.
When the Summer Games were awarded to Beijing, one of the concerns was the poor air quality of the city. Moreover, to house so many new visitors, transportation was an issue in an already chaotic traffic system. To combat this problem, local vehicles will only be allowed on the road on alternate days during the Olympic Games. Vehicles from outside Beijing will also be prohibited from entering the city unless they meet air quality standards.
Another issue that Chinese officials had to address was the dangerous time we live in. The Olympics has grown to become the premiere sporting event in the world with a global audience. Unfortunately, this spotlight also attracts political and religious zealots. To keep the Games safe, China has created an anti-terror squad of 100,000 men strong.
It seems as though China is addressing anticipated issues well and will strive for the best Olympic Games ever for its coming out party. Now that the logistics are over, let’s get the show on the road and let the XXIX Olympiad begin!
The 2008 Olympics

Bidding for the Olympic Games, in a way, an image-creating undertaking. The first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love with the city at first sight, attracting them by its unipue image. What image does Beijing
intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the 2008 Olympics?
It is known to all that the Beijing Municipal Government has already set the theme for the future games: New Beijing, Great Olympics. For me, the 2008 Olympics will be a great green Olympics illuminated with two more special colors, yellow and red.
First, yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China’s Mother River and the descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 Games.
Secondly, the 2008 Olympics will be a red pageant.Red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. We adore red. On big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. It is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. Red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of Beijing . Beijing , together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. Should the 2008 Olympics be held in Beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red : the red torch, red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people.
Above all, the 2008 Olympics will be a green Olympics. Adding a green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can’t deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. Striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of Beijing. Big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city. According to a project entitled” The Green Olympic Action Plan”, between 1998 and 2007, Beijing, we have invested 100 billion RMB in preserving and protecting the environment. Some 12.5 million trees and over 1 million acres of grass will be planted along the Fourth Ring Road. By then, the city’s green area will make up 40% of its total. The city will also dredge its reservoirs used as a water supply to Beijing residents, controlling industrial pollution and moving out the 200 factories presently located within the city proper.
Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each
citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, United, we stand, and a green Beijing will be achieved.
When our aspiration becomes a reality, it will be a unique Olympics.” New Beijing, Great Olympics”; will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.
Let us welcome it and look forward to it! Thank you!
